Chopmist Charlie’s − excellent food! We love them for lunch or dinner, but in the summer,
you have a better chance of getting a table for a late lunch or early dinner. They serve everything
from burgers, sandwiches and salads to wonderful seafood entrees. Reservations are not accepted but
don’t let that stop you from asking for a table. 40 Narragansett Ave, 401.423.1020
Oyster Bar & Grille − the place to go for seafood. This is a smaller place and it looks
casual but the seafood is outstanding. They always have a nice selection of daily specials. Some of our
guests have told us that they have excellent steaks. 22 Narragansett Ave, 401.423.3380.
Trattoria Simpatico − fantastic spot for a romantic dinner or a casual outdoor lunch. Chef Kevin
Gaudreau creates outstanding entrees bringing a little piece of heaven to this part of the world. You
will not be disappointed. ”Trat”, as it’s affectionately called by the locals,
features indoor dining as well as an outdoor garden area where live music can be enjoyed various days
of the week. Reservations are highly recommended no matter what season. 13 Narragansett Ave, 401.423.3731
Ace’s Pizza − great pizza, great sandwiches. 1 Clarke St, 401.423.2824
East Ferry Deli − good coffee, and they have this raspberry coffee cake that we wish we had
the recipe for. It’s a great spot to sit outside and watch the coming and goings of East Ferry
Wharf and Narragansett Bay. 47 Conanicus Ave, 401.423.1592.
Freddie’s House of Pizza − the Italian ”grinder” is our favorite, and their
calzones are pretty tasty too. 23 Narragansett Ave, 401.423.3060
Peking Garden − having lived in NYC and Boston with some of the best Chinese restaurants
around, we couldn’t be more thrilled to have good Chinese food one block away. 34 Narragansett
Ave, 401.423.0680.
Slice of Heaven − if you want to try their pastry, get there
early because we went later in the day and they can sell out fast. They have a great lunch and dinner menu
of salads and paninis with indoor and outdoor seating. 32 Narragansett Ave, 401.423.9866.
Village Hearth Bakery − every day is a treat because there is always something new to savor. From
breads and paninis to homemade pizza (Sunday nights only), this is the place to go. There is no seating
but stop in to watch them make everything by hand and from scratch. If they have the pasta frolla ricotta
pies − get one! 2 Watson Ave, 401.423.9282.
Clarke Cooke House − if it’s a special occasion or a night you want to remember, Clarke
Cooke House is an excellent spot. Offering water views, it will not be easy to decide what entrée
to enjoy. This is an elegant dining experience and you’ll want to dress for the event. They
offer casual and more upscale seating areas (where jacket and tie are preferred). Reservations
highly recommended, especially if you want a water view. Bannister’s Wharf, 401.849.2900.
The Red Parrot − good burgers, good sandwiches and fun location to people watch on
Thames Street.
You can usually get a table no matter what time of year but you may have a wait during peak hours in the
summer. 348 Thames St, 401.847.3140.
Rhode Island Quahog Company − good chowder, good salads. It’s busy at the
height of lunch and dinner times but we have eaten there a
late lunch and were able to get a table no problem. It’s an excellent location right in the center
of things on Thames Street.
250 Thames St, 401.848.2330.
