We have taken each of these routes and this is what we recommend as the best way to get here. Internet mapping programs may suggest other routes.

From the North East (Boston):

Take 95 South through Providence* to Exit 9 (Route 4 South) in Rhode Island. Exit 9 will be from the left 2 lanes.
Follow Route 4 until it ends at Route 1.
Continue on Route 1 to Route 138 East following signs for Jamestown/Newport.
Continue on 138E over Jamestown Verrazzano Bridge and take 2nd exit for Jamestown, right before toll bridge to Newport.
Continue straight down Conanicus Avenue, past the Golf Course and Police Station and then along the water.
You will come to a Stop sign at Narragansett Avenue (town center). Go through the Stop sign and make a right at the next street (Union Street, BankNewport on the corner).
East Bay Bed & Breakfast is the third house (dark blue house) on the right. You may park in the driveway or on the street.

*To avoid Providence traffic, when on 95S in MA, take Exit 4 for 295 South. This will take you around Providence and put you back on 95S in RI. It’s about 10 miles longer but it can save quite a bit of time when traffic through Providence is backed up.
Alternate Route:
Take 93 South to Exit 4, Route 24 South towards Fall River/Newport, RI
Take Route 24 to Exit 4 bear right onto 195W/24S.
Stay in the righthand lane and take Exit 8A (first exit) to continue on 24S towards Tiverton/Newport.
Route 24 becomes 114. Follow signs for 138 West, Middletown/Newport Beaches.
Continue on 138W towards Jamestown/Newport Beaches and follow signs for Newport Bridge.
Go over Newport Bridge towards Jamestown. You will pay a $2 toll (E-ZPass and FastLane are not accepted).
Take the immediate exit to your right and continue to bear right back under the bridge.
At the Stop sign, make a left onto Conanicus Avenue.
Continue straight down Conanicus Avenue, past the Golf Course and Police Station and then along the water.
You will come to a Stop sign at Narragansett Avenue (town center). Go through the Stop sign and make a right at the next street (Union Street, BankNewport on the corner).
East Bay Bed & Breakfast is the third house (dark blue house) on the right. You may park in the driveway or on the street.

Trip is approximately 75 miles from downtown Boston.


From the South (NYC, Connecticut):

Take 95 North, New England Thruway to Exit 3 in Rhode Island.
Take Route 138 East towards Jamestown/Newport.
Continue on 138E over Jamestown Verrazzano Bridge and take 2nd exit for Jamestown, right before toll bridge to Newport.
Continue straight down Conanicus Avenue, past the Golf Course and Police Station and then along the water.
You will come to a Stop sign at Narragansett Avenue (town center). Go through the Stop sign and make a right at the next street (Union Street, BankNewport on the corner).
East Bay Bed & Breakfast is the third house (dark blue house) on the right. You may park in the driveway or on the street.

Trip is approximately 170 miles from midtown Manhattan.


From the East (Cape Cod):

Take Route 195 West towards New Bedford/Providence.
At Exit 8A, take Route 24 South towards Tiverton/Newport.
Route 24 becomes 114. Follow signs for 138 West, Middletown/Newport Beaches.
Continue on 138W towards Jamestown/Newport Beaches and follow signs for Newport Bridge.
Go over Newport Bridge towards Jamestown. You will pay a $2 toll (E-ZPass and FastLane are not accepted).

Trip is approximately 75 miles from Barnstable.


From Albany, NY/Central MA:

Take NYS Thruway (I-90) East towards Boston. Continue on MA Turnpike (I-90) to Exit 10A.
Take 146 South into Rhode Island towards Providence. (Right after you get on there is a gas station along the road on the right hand size that usually has the cheapest gas you will find in RI so you may want to stop & fill up).
Take 146S to 295S. Take 295S until it ends at 95S.
You then have about 4 miles to get into one of the two left hand lanes for Exit 9 (Route 4 South). Exit 9 will be from the left 2 lanes.
Follow Route 4 until it ends at Route 1.
Continue on Route 1 to Route 138 East following signs for Jamestown/Newport.
Continue on 138E over Jamestown Verrazzano Bridge and take 2nd exit for Jamestown, right before toll bridge to Newport.
Continue straight down Conanicus Avenue, past the Golf Course and Police Station and then along the water.
You will come to a Stop sign at Narragansett Avenue (town center). Go through the Stop sign and make a right at the next street (Union Street, BankNewport on the corner).

From Providence, TF Green Airport or Providence Amtrak Station:

Take 95 South to Exit 9 (Route 4 South). Exit 9 will be from the left 2 lanes.
Follow Route 4 until it ends at Route 1.
Continue on Route 1 to Route 138 East following signs for Jamestown/Newport.
Continue on 138E over Jamestown Verrazzano Bridge and take 2nd exit for Jamestown, right before toll bridge to Newport.
Continue straight down Conanicus Avenue, past the Golf Course and Police Station and then along the water.
You will come to a Stop sign at Narragansett Avenue (town center). Go through the Stop sign and make a right at the next street (Union Street, BankNewport on the corner).

Trip is approximately 35 miles from downtown Providence and Amtrak Station and 25 miles from TF Green Airport.


From Kingston Amtrak Station:

Exit station by making a right onto Route 138 East towards University of Rhode Island (URI), Jamestown/Newport.
Continue on 138E past URI.
When you come to Route 1 (major intersection), make a left onto Route 1 North following signs for 138E Jamestown/Newport.
Go over Jamestown Verrazzano Bridge and take 2nd exit for Jamestown, right before toll bridge to Newport.
Continue straight down Conanicus Avenue, past the Golf Course and Police Station and then along the water.
You will come to a Stop sign at Narragansett Avenue (town center). Go through the Stop sign and make a right at the next street (Union Street, BankNewport on the corner).
